Key information can be found below, however please do not hesitate to let us know if there’s anything else we can help with, in order to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

Bar

Fancy a hot toddy after a day on the hills, or a Pimms in the garden on a sunny day? Opening times are posted on the reception / bar window, just ring for service.

Beds

We use hollow fibre non-allergenic pillows and duvets, if you would prefer feather we are happy to change them for you. The duvets are 10.5 or 13.5 tog.  You will find additional blankets in your room.

Beauty Services

We can arrange in house or salon based hair and beauty services for you from a local salon, please see leaflet in this folder.

Bicycles

We have a secure shed for bicycle storage along with cleaning equipment and a hose. We can also organise bike hire with a local company for you.

Breakfast

Served between 08:00 and 09:00, in order to speed up service to you, please complete your breakfast order on the form provided and leave it at reception by 21:00. If you change your mind, no problem, just let us know when you come down for breakfast.  Please let us know on arrival of any food allergies.

Check In / Out

Check in is between 16:00 – 22:00 and check out is by 10:00. Early check in (from 13:00) and late check out (midday) are available on request for fee of £10.

Dining

There are lots of great places to eat in Moffat, several of which we have negotiated discounts with for our customers. We are always happy to make reservations for you.

Dogs

We welcome well behaved dogs in the top floor rooms (7 – Ferguson, 8 – Stewart and 9 -Douglas). Please note the following:

·         A blanket is provided in your room for protecting the bedding (no point in pretending they won’t get comfy on the bed!) Dog beds are also available.

·         Dogs should not be left alone in your room apart from at breakfast. We can recommend nearby dog friendly restaurants/pubs/cafes and also provide a dog crèche (see below).

·         No dogs in the dining room please.

·         Towels are provided in the bench in the storm porch. Please dry your dog before bringing them into the house, if they are particularly muddy then there is a hose on the right hand side of the house.

·         You accept liability for any damage caused by your dog and will be required to pay for its repair.

Doggy Day Care

Want to head out sightseeing but give your dog the day off?  We are fully insured and can look after your dog in our ‘dog pod’ which includes a cosy sofa, lots of cuddles, toys, treats and a nice long walk.

Environmental

We are keen to minimise our carbon footprint, if you are staying longer than one night, please leave your towels on the rails if you are happy to reuse them. If not then please leave them in the bath/shower and they will be replaced

Fairtrade

We are proud members of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum and source Fairtrade environmentally sustainable and local products where possible.

Fire Alarm

Please make sure you know where the fire alarm call point is and locate your nearest means of escape. Fire action notices can be found on the back of your room door. The fire alarm is tested between 11:00 – 12:00 every Tuesday.

Games

Board games and playing cards can be found in the cabinet in the guest lounge, please enjoy.

Hairdryer

Can be found in your room, straighteners can be provided on request.

Hot Water Bottles

Can be found in your room, please be careful when filling them up from the kettle.

Iron / Ironing Board

Available on request.

Keys

Your key operates the front door and your room door, please keep it with you. There is a £25 fee should you lose it.

Laundry

We can wash and dry up to 10 items for a fee of £10.

Packed Lunches

Fill out the order form provided and leave at reception before 21:00 and hey presto! a delicious packed lunch will be prepared for you, available to collect the next morning.

Refreshments

Fresh milk is available for your drinks, as are refills for tea coffee, sugar etc., please ask.

Showers

The hot water can take a little while to come through so your patience is appreciated.

Smoking

Bridge House operates a no smoking policy and all of our rooms and public areas are designated non-smoking. Smoke detectors are fitted in all rooms for the safety of our guests.

Taxi

We can order a taxi for you, or our local firms are Moffat Taxis 01638 221666 or Young’s 07400 037005

Tourist Information

You can find a selection of leaflets and books about local attractions and places to visit situated in the guest lounge.  We are also on hand to help with walking routes, as we have experienced lots of them ourselves.

Water

Bottled tap water is provided in your room, should you prefer mineral or sparkling water, this is available to purchase from the bar.

Wi-Fi

Access is free throughout the house.
